Philipp Pein was found in their apartment on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the age of 45, according to a June 24, 2026 fundraiser organized by longtime friend Dominik Schulte.
Dominik Schulte said they shared nearly 30 years of close friendship, from youth into adulthood, through joyful memories and difficult seasons.
The tribute remembered Philipp as a distinctive, warm, humorous, loyal, intelligent person who loved historic bicycles, unusual technology, old stories, special cars, tennis, music, and the Irish bagpipe.
The fundraiser reported €3,050 raised toward a €3.1K goal through 52 donations for funeral and memorial costs.
Schulte said Philipp left no close relatives and no available funds, so supporters have been asked to help provide a dignified farewell.
